I really wish someone would do a native compile of Inkscape. GIMP native is so much faster and doesn’t suffer from open-apple envy.
I’ve seen mention of a “homebrew” native compile but I haven’t tried it. BTW, if you have multiple monitors xquartz has a bug/feature with mission control. Been struggling with that for a week since I updated Chrome, had to go back to version.60 or so to get full-screen to work along with inkscape. I’m still running Sierra (due to incompatibilities with Indigo) which requires disabling ‘desktops use separate spaces’ for xquartz to work. When that option is enabled the Inkscape window is hidden, you can see it in mission control but you can’t focus it on any desktop.
Newer versions of Chrome blank out additional monitors in full screen mode without setting that option. I usually stream to my second monitor via Chrome and who wants to watch football in anything other than full-screen mode?
I very recently discovered InkScape and would really love to use it in production. I thus tried and compared InkScape (v. I need help installing inkscape on My MAC OS X 10.9.1 I have followed to install inkscape but not able to run inkscape.

Inkscape also supports Creative Commons meta-data, node editing, layers, complex path operations, bitmap tracing, text-on-path, flowed text, direct XML editing, and more. Inkscape's main goal is to create a powerful and convenient drawing tool fully compliant with XML, SVG, and CSS standards. We also aim to maintain a thriving user and developer community by using open, community-oriented development process, and by making sure Inkcape is easy to learn, to use, and to extend. By Anonymous Buggy editor.
The editor looks nice but is very buggy and not very useful. A very obvious and stupid bug is that if you open an.eps fi le with text, add in another text and then save as.eps, the new text won't appear. If you 'save as'/'save a copy'.eps for several times, you won't be able to save any more, upon clicking these buttons, the save-file popup window will no longer appear. In conclusion, it cannot edit.eps files as easy as it should be.
